[Metisse] Slow scrolling

Why is scrolling in apps slow in metisse? Scrolling in firefox is quite
laggy.
I use ATI Radeon 9600 (128MB) with the official fglrx driver.
AMD Athlon 2800+
1GB RAM
Slackware 11

What's wrong? Is there a workaround or bugfix for this?
